  • I would like to share a story that happened the day after Christmas, which reminds me that we are blessed to have very good people in our community. While my car was in for servicing at one of the more prestigious dealerships, they informed me that I needed a new clutch. I decided that it would be wise to get another estimate, then scheduled to have my clutch replaced by Jeff @ Champion Transmissions. When I came to pick up my car, Jeff informed me that upon beginning the work, they discovered that an adjustment was all that was required and there would be no charge. Even though I have authorized the work, and he would have profited by completing the job, he decided to let me know the work was not necessary. There have been many articles about rip-off artists in the car repair business, but obviously Jeff is not one of them. I felt the best way I could reward him for his honesty was to let everyone know that we have some good, honest people in our community. Thanks, Jeff

  • How kind of you for a super job in repairing the transmission in our 1990 Mercury. We appreciate all you did for us in securing transportation and lodging. You made our delay much less of a hassle. Frankly, we were at a loss as to what to do. You were a God send. Your mechanics deserve a "Thank-you" as well so please let them know we care about good people like you and them. Our family could not believe we were back on the road again in only one day. You see, two family members had transmission probelms in other states and their cars were in the shop for a week or more. The rented cars, came home and had to go back later and pickup their car.   • My husband was having trouble with his car and thought it was the transmission. He brought it into your shop and left it with you to diagnose the problem. You test drove the car and called him to tell him it wasn't a transmission problem. You thought it was bad spark wires and suggested he change those and see if the problem was corrected. He purchased the new wires, installed them and the car has been running perfectly since then. I am writing to thank you for your honesty. Very few people know when there are serious problems with their car and it is nice to know there are shops like yours that you can depend on for an honest assessment of the problem. Needless to say, the repair bill was insignificant when compared to a transmission problem. My husband and I are grateful to you for your service and your integrity. If more businesses operated with your level of honesty and integrity, consumers would rest alot easier and their businesses would be more profitable.   • Every once in a while, going through life, you meet someone who you just feel is different. Someone willing to go out of their way for you for no apparent reason, except because of the goodness in their heart. Jeff Walson is such a man. He is the owner of a company in Thousand Oaks called Champion Transmissions. My brother and I were rebuilding my transmission. He being trained in the automotive industry, performed all the work, while I had the easy job of locating parts. While visiting the local dealer, a customer referred me to Champion Transmissions and said that they had been extremely helpful and seemed very knowledgeable. Upon his advise, I went. Jeff, the owner, went out of his way to see that I received all quality parts, gave us helpful tips to improve performance and make the installation easier. As if that wasn't enough he also offered free technical advice and additional assistance if needed. Very rarely do you find people so willing to go out of their way to make such a positive difference in the community. My deepest thanks go out to this man for helping to reaffirm my faith in humanity, knowing that people like this really do exist brings my heart great joy.

  • I was having serious trouble with my transmission. Champion not only spent an entire day trying to find the problem, when they did encounter that it was an electrical short, they recommended a shop that could fix it! Champion did not charge me a dime! They discovered the problem and sent me to a facility that fixed it the same day! I have the highest praise for Champion and it's owner Jeff.   • On time and on budget Unlike many other transmission repair facilities, where customers get "taken by the nose" with misleading information about the state of their transmission, this is the place to take your transmission problem. No false information. The owner is very knowledgeable about automatic transmissions and is able to repair or overhaul your transmission (in most cases) rather than try to sell you a new one at high cost.   • I first found Champion Transmission in the Yellow pages in 1998. What a find that was! I had a Ford minivan that was not shifting correctly. It went from 1st to 3rd, skipping 2nd gear altogether, and I was ready to pay for a total trans rebuild. Jeff found that the problem was a vacuum advance sensor, which he replaced and I was out the door for about $180.00. Jeff could have sold me the rebuild, and I would never have known, but that's not Jeff's way. Jeff is exactly what you want when you go looking for a mechanic; Honest, very good at his job, and a really nice guy. I always recommend Champion Transmission when I find myself in a conversation about mechanics.

  • I can't say enough about the honesty and integrity of Jeff the owner of Champion Transmission. We recently brought in our 2003 Volkswagen Jetta to Champion Transmission. I had thought that the transmission was blown. Jeff, after flushing the transmission fluid and examining the valve body, determined that the transmission was still good. He replaced the fluid and Transmission Radiator. Our little Jetta is now shifting and running perfect. To anyone who reads this review: Jeff is a wonderful Christian man who is totally honest. I would recommend him to anyone who needs mechanical or transmission repairs.

  • We thought the transmission or differential failed on our Tahoe when all of a sudden there was a loud bang and it came to a sudden stop, unable to move. After taking the Tahoe in, the crew had determined the problem was a rear disc brake caliper bolt that came loose and jammed itself between the caliper and wheel. They fixed the problem very quickly. We are very grateful for their honesty and superb service.

  • It is truly a pleasure to provide this review of Jeff and the crew at Champion Transmissions. For most everything, I prefer to work with local community businesses to which I have been referred to by other trusted individuals. I was referred to Jeff by the owner of another local auto repair business (Sean @ Import Car Specialists aka ICS) that I had also originally been referred to. Sean at ICS suggested I get the transmission service performed on my (very tired, now teenager driven) 1996 Land Rover Discovery (220,000+ miles) as they would likely be able to do it faster and at a better price than he could as they are transmission experts. Upon contacting Jeff by phone, he demonstrated great familiarity with my vehicle without sounding condescending or trying to upsell add'l services. He kept me apprised throughout the day as they progressed on the car. They completed the work on time and under estimate, and even arranged to accommodate my picking the vehicle up after hours. As with my relationship with Sean at ICS, I have such complete confidence and trust in Jeff and crew at Championship Transmissions that I feel my search for trusted auto care is complete and in the future I won't have to get sick to my stomach feeling that often comes with not trusting the repair shop one's vehicle is being repaired by. What a huge relief!
